The Desire to Learn

May 17, 2010

When I was a teenager, my Father came home
with our first computer. It was an Apple IIe
and it ran with two floppy disc drives. He told
me the computer was for my school papers
and handed me the manual to learn how to
use it.
What he did was help me to see that I could
learn things on my own. That desire to pick up
a manual and learn something new has stuck
with me to this day. I am grateful to my Father
for teaching me to use my brain without fear.
